Dear Parents & Prospective Boys’ Lacrosse Players:
We are looking forward to another exciting year of Barrington High School (BHS) Boys Lacrosse (LAX) as we field teams for our 19th consecutive year. The 2010 season begins with our BHS Boys’ Lacrosse registration meeting on Monday, December 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the BHS cafeteria.
Parents are required to turn-in all required lacrosse registration forms and fees in order have your son’s registration considered complete. Those unable to submit all required registration documents and fees by Registration Night will be assessed a $50 late fee.
The club’s legal counsel stresses the importance of printing legibly on all forms and waivers. Additionally, “unreadable” e-mail addresses will keep you from receiving important club-wide e-mail communications.

Player Club Fees
As a “club” sport, the cost of fielding a team is financed entirely by player fees and club fundraisers, not by the Barrington School District 220. The Barrington Lacrosse Club’s budget and activities are planned and managed by a parent board of directors and a faculty advisor.
Player Registration – What to Bring
1. US Lacrosse Membership Registration – This year, parents will be responsible for registering their boys for membership with US Lacrosse at www.uslacrosse.org by clicking on the JOIN NOW link. If you “opt out”, the check will be cashed and you will have fulfilled your volunteer requirements. If you wish to volunteer you will be assigned two tasks and your check will be destroyed once those assignments have been met.
Parent Volunteer Sign-Up
Each family will need to provide a check in the amount of $75 towards their volunteer obligation. You may choose to have the check cashed immediately and consider this your volunteer commitment OR you can sign up for one of the following volunteer roles. Once you have completed your obligation, your check will be destroyed and no fee will be assessed.
Club Apparel Sales -- Help man the club apparel sales booth at a varsity home game (we particularly need freshman and JV parent help so that varsity parents can watch the game). In addition, we need volunteers to man an apparel booth at some JV and FROSH games as well as Sunday youth league games at Ron Beese Park.
Post-Game Water/Gatorade -- Bring 3-cases of water/Gatorade to home games for both home and away teams (our hospitality to visiting teams) and serve one shift in the Chuck Wagon (the food service venue at the stadium).
Team Dinner -- Host a casual team dinner for one of the teams (often shared by families).
Post-Season Awards Night -- Help plan and manage the end-of-season awards program.
Media & Publicity – Submit team news stories, photographs, and scores to the club website, local newspapers, and school news organizations.
Squad Player & Parent Communications– Manage team communications for the FROSH, JV or Varsity team.
Man 2 shifts at the Chuck Wagon food service at a home JV or Varsity game.
If you have questions about any of the above volunteer positions or would like to sign-up early, please contact Barb Strauss at miamiu1985@mac.com
We look forward to seeing you on December 7th! Please review the attached Frequently Asked Questions for additional information regarding the BHS Boys’ Lacrosse program.
